Mom's the Winner!
Speed-Up, Slow-Motion, Backwards, Fast Forward, Repeat Repeat Repeat, Change Sounds!
I'm so glad my husband had his iPad with him when we went to take pictures of the fresh snow that had fallen. Little did we know our Son would start a snowball fight and have it wind up as a wrestling match. We must have had some pent up energy due to cabin fever because both of us were stepping up to horsing around. Raja, our spirited German Shepard, felt like joining in and being playful as well.
It's not often that we get snow up on Skyline Blvd. in California, so when a neighbor coming down our road let us know it was snowing up top, we got very excited about witnessing it. It's always fun to watch it fall. We all rode in the Tacoma Truck, dog in the back, and headed up the road to see. What was first slush on the windshield became more solid, and fluffy, I couldn't help squeal with delight. It took us about twenty minutes to reach the peak where the snow starts getting thicker and sure enough it was falling heavily.
"The clip was so short I wanted to experiment to see if I could put some extra footage in."
Included in the footage GoGo Daat channel on YT teaches you some video lengthening techniques.
iMovie is an easy to learn editing platform for the beginning videographer. Extending the video is sometimes necessary for timing purposes. GoGo Daat channel uses these techniques, ie; Reverse, Slow-motion, Forward & Back, Duplicate-Play, in order to increase footage length. Freeze frame is another form of extending.
If you have video that is too long, a great way is to shorten it is to speed it up using the timing setting which is usually the symbol of a clock. The settings on iMovie are 2x, 4x, 8x, and 20x, or you can set a custom setting. So if 100 is normal speed, 88 is slower motion, or time lengthened, while 122 would be faster motion, time shortened footage. It is much easier to understand as you explore and discover the vastitude of iMovie. So for example, if you choose 2x, the film footage would be sped up 200 percent.
